Jo Bulmer

Jo is an ACMG Apprentice Rock Guide who loves playing in the mountains and pushing herself on long multipitch climbs.

Jo began her love of climbing as a youth when she first immigrated to Canada from Wales and, to make friends, enrolled in the kids climbing program at her local gym. She was immediately hooked and competed throughout highschool eventually transitioning to the outdoor playground of Squamish, B.C.

After completing her degree at Edinburgh University Jo relocated to Vietnam to teach English and explore the Limestone cliffs of Lang Ha Bay. Before long she had swapped the classroom for the cliffs and began working as a deep water solo and kayaking guide on Cat Ba Island.

Her love of climbing has allowed Jo to travel extensively, most recently pushing herself in the giant granite jungle of Cochamo Valley in Chilean Patagonia. Her favourite climbing days are those spent trying hard with good friends, high off the ground.
